Watching many, many episodes!
Sometime in the '50s I met them. Perhaps at Marshall Field's or Carson's in Chicago. They were very gracious. I was there (probably 8 years old), with my mother and oldest sister. My oldest sister is 20 years older than me. They made the mistake of referring to my mother as "Grandmother" and my sister as my mother. Close, because my sister had a son only 6 months younger than me. But my mother feigned outrage and said she was the mother! Of course, this happened all the time. She wasn't at all upset. But they almost fell all over themselves apologizing. I thought the whole incident was pretty funny. Hope they weren't really worried that they offended a possible fan.
