Lash LaRue at Werner Park Elementary School in Shreveport, LA.

I was a physical education teacher at Werner Park Elem. School in Shreveport, La. when Lash LaRue did a show for the children using his famous bullwhip. This was during the 1970's. I was around 30 years old and was a long time fan of his movies. He told me after the show that he was a born again Christian and was trying to whip the alcohol problem. His skills with the whip were evident and the audience enjoyed it although they did not have the appreciation of him since his movies were long gone. I will never forget him and only wished that I had brought my camera to school. I did not even get an autograph. Today I am 68 and am looking for one of his comic books to display along with other memorabillia at our 1965 class reunion in Winnfield, La. this coming June. I have my Hopalong Cassidy cap gun and holster from my boyhood. If one knows where I can get a copy of a Lash Larue comic book, please contact me.
